Up to three years or completion of an associate degree, whichever comes first - you can stack certificates into it along the way. For a bachelor's degree offered at Dallas College, you have up to five years, and can stack certificates and an associate degree into it along the way.
Detailed continuation eligibility requirements (GPA, Satisfactory Academic Progress, and completion standards) are maintained in a separate reference document. Talk to your Dallas Promise Case Manager to confirm the current standards and for help if you fall behind - acting early gives you the best chance of protecting your funding.
Priority processing is reserved for students who complete admission and financial aid steps by July 1. Enrollment must be completed by Aug. 19, 2027.
Complete the Promise Path Form. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your Promise ID. Completing the Path Form does not obligate you to participate in the program.
Submit the Dallas College Admissions Application.
Also submit:Submit the FAFSA or TASFA and list Dallas College as a recipient (school code 004453). Eligibility requires demonstrated financial need (Pell via FAFSA, or TEOG/TPEG via TASFA). You only need to file ONE.
Before the final deadline:Be degree-seeking at Dallas College and select an eligible Primary Program of Study in Workday (credit) or eConnect (non-credit) – it must be Title IV eligible to qualify for Promise. Complete Fall 2027 class registration using courses on your Program of Study; courses outside it aren’t covered.

Each four-year DCP partner has its own requirements. Start planning with your Success Coach at least one year before your intended transfer date - their deadlines are often earlier than Dallas College's July 1 priority deadline.
